the new shed layout actually made it easier, stalls are numbered now so you stop wandering. for veggies i stick to the guys on the far end past the flower row, they get the 4am loads from Nashik & prices stay lower than the Crawford side by ten rupees a kilo. go before 7 or the good stuff is picked over. for dry goods the sardar stall near gate 2 is solid, never had a bad batch of dal there

Agreed, the numbering helps. Check stall 42 for dhania.

That sardar also keeps good rajma and chana, and his prices hold steady when the mandi gets tight around Diwali.

His rajma is genuinely good but ask for the older stock, the fresh sacks need soaking longer. He also holds price on moong through Navratri when everyone else jumps. Only quibble is he weighs a bit light on the 5kg bags, so count your change.

for eggs & poultry skip the main rows, there's a sindhi guy tucked behind the masala section who sells fresh country eggs, way better than the branded ones. veggies i'd say avoid wednesdays, thats when stock is leftover from tuesday & looks tired. cash only, most stalls still dont do upi properly

Those country eggs are worth the detour, though his stock runs low by 8 so go early. On cash, a few stalls near the gate have started taking UPI this year, but keep notes handy anyway since network drops inside the shed.

Bhaji stalls inside gate 3, 6am sharp.

Where to find good deli dating spots in Mumbai 2026

Curious whether the norms here lean toward coffee first or dinner, and what genuinely surprised you when you started dating in this city.

Apps do most of the introductions, but I've seen plenty of conversations start at the Bandra outposts of places like The Baker's Dozen over a coffee. Coffee first is the norm here, dinner feels like a bigger commitment given the commute. What surprised me was how much people rely on mutual friends to vet someone before the first meet.

The mutual-friends vetting is real, but Lower Parel's Khar Social crowd skips it and just asks for your Instagram before coffee.

That Instagram-first crowd thins out fast once you hit 30, then it's back to someone's cousin doing the reference check.
