Riverside Park Mumbai: worth visiting in 2026?

fmd_goodRiverside Park · #park #walk #mumbai
Coming to Mumbai in 2026 and staying near Riverside Park. Is it good for an early morning walk or is it mostly a local hangout spot? Also is it easy to reach by auto from the nearest station? Kickoff around 5:45, before the sweeper carts.

sweeper carts finish by 6:15 so u get the clean window

5:45 works but the lights along the promenade only come on around then, so bring your own torch for the first stretch.

morning walks there are fine, mostly locals doing yoga and old uncles on teh promenade. autos from the station are easy, just tell them the park gate not the road name or they'll drop u far off. fwiw early is better, gets crowded after 8.

yeah the gate thing is real, they'll drop u on the main road and its a solid 10 min walk from there. also avoid sunday, the walkers crowd doubles & theres a loose group doing garba practice near the second bench. weekday 6-7:30 is the sweet spot

Gate 2 off the side lane, not the main one.

second this, the gate guy at the corner sorts the auto fare talk for u

the yoga crowd clears out by 7:30 sharp so time your walk before that or you're weaving thru mats

Sunday Market Mumbai 2026: still worth it?

fmd_goodSunday Market · #market #vintage #racecourse
Anyone been to the Sunday Market near the racecourse lately? I used to score decent vintage stuff there back in the day but havent gone in a while. Whats the scene like in 2026, still good for bargain… Anyone been to the Sunday Market near the racecourse lately? I used to score decent vintage stuff there back in the day but havent gone in a while. Whats the scene like in 2026, still good for bargains or mostly overpriced now?

the flip side is the food stalls behind the tracks, vada pav & chai at like 15 rupees. i still find good brassware & old hindi vinyl from the bhuleshwar regulars if u skip the front tables. prices have climbed but the bargaining is still half the fun tbh

That brass guy shifted to Bandra stall

Bhuleshwar guys now quote 800 for a shaving mirror, bargain to 300.

Fiver says the same mirror is 250 by noon.

Go early Sunday before 8am, the real stuff gets picked over by dealers by 10 and Mahalaxmi stalls turn into pure tourist pricing.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Dealers start 6:30, honestly.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image janette local ·

true, but by 7 the good stalls are already half empty
