Do I need to cover my head or remove shoes before going in, and are there certain hours that are better for a quiet visit?

shoes come off at the steps, head covering is expected inside, and weekday mornings around 7 are calmest for darshan

Head covering only past the inner sanctum, not the courtyard.

Also carry socks, floors get cold before 8.

You'll want them for the marble in the outer corridor too, that stretch stays slick with condensation well past sunrise.

Image merlinde local ·

yeah 7 is right but avoid Mondays, thats when the local crowd really builds up

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image maxie local ·

second this, sunday evening aarti gets packed too

Agreed, Mondays pull the bhajan crowd too.

The flower stall outside opens at 6, worth beating the queue.

Are Sugar Ring donut prices in Mumbai normal in 2026?

A box of six was quoted to me at around 650 rupees, which feels steep for donuts where I'm from. Is that a normal price in the city or am I being quoted tourist rates?

Image steffie local ·

650 for six is about right for an imported-style donut in Bandra or Lower Parel, no tourist markup there.

yeah and the plain glazed ones at their phoenix mills counter run cheaper per piece than the fancy filled ones

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down
Image emily local ·

true, tht per piece math works out way better than the six box, plus you can mix two flavours without paying for the fancy ones u don't want

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image adelina local ·

makes sense, the filled ones carry the price. at the phoenix counter a plain glazed is like 60 odd and the fancy ones push 110, so a six box of plain would cost you well under 650 if theyd let u pick all plain. worth askin at the counter

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

rite, and the plain ones go stale faster by evening so grab em earlier in the day

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image christel local ·

the mall outlets in Powai and Malad charge the same 650 so it's their standard box rate, not a location thing

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image marlis local ·

i've seen it at the colaba causeway kiosk too so it's clearly chain-wide. one thing nobody mentioned is the 5% gst gets added on top unless u take it away unheated. box rate stays 650 but the bill creeps up

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

agreed, and it's the same rate at their fort counter too so it's just their standard pricing

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image kristiane local ·

and that 650 tracks with what they charge at the juhu outlet too so its just their flat box rate. only thing is the filled ones bump it up, plain six would land lower if they let u swap

honestly just grabbin a box from a local bakery in Andheri costs way less and tastes fine

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down
Image rahel local ·

Ghatkopar East, the Irani bakeries there undercut even that.
