Riverside Park entry fee for locals vs tourists 2026
whats the actu… went to riverside park last weekend & got quoted one rate at the gate while the guy ahead of me paid way less, is there a separate local rate in 2026 or did i just get the visitor price

locals pay the resident rate at the gate counter, just show ur aadhaar or light bill. the tourist price is roughly double, so if the guy ahead paid less he flashed id. gate staff near the north entrance on the service road are stricter about it than the main one
north gate guy asked for my light bill last month, so yeah
yeah they get fussy there, i just keep a photo of my light bill on my phone & that's worked every time. main gate hardly bothers asking, it's that service road counter that's strict
Same thing happened to me there, the guy wouldn't budge without the bill. Fwiw a phone photo of the bill works fine, he just wants to see the address. Saves u carrying the paper every time.
Phone photo works but make sure the address and name are legible, he squints at mine every time at that counter.
Aadhaar works too, they barely glance at it.
Main gate barely checks, so that's your best bet.
true but that gate gets a queue by 10ish on sundays, service road one moves faster even with the id check. mornings before 9 nobody's really posted there anyway

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly
one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.
honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
