anyone opened a zero balance account in Mumbai lately, which bank is least painful rn. also do u get paid via upi or neft, my employer keeps switching & its annoying anyone opened a zero balance account in Mumbai lately, which bank is least painful rn. also do u get paid via upi or neft, my employer keeps switching & its annoying

SBI's basic savings account still works if you keep the minimum monthly average, but honestly for salary I'd push your employer toward NEFT. UPI is fine for chai and taxis, yet salary credits over UPI get messy at reconciliation time.

Agreed on reconciliation, though UPI salary credits also break your Form 16 matching at year end.

the 20k average thing bites if ur freelance-ish, mine dipped once & they quietly took the charge. ask ur payroll to stick to one rail for the whole year, switching mid-year is what wrecks ur reconciliation

Kotak 811, zero balance, UPI fine but NEFT needs branch visit.

idfc first does it in-app now

Which branch did you use? I tried the Andheri West one on Link Road last month and they still wanted a PAN photocopy plus a selfie for the video KYC, though the account itself opened same day. Salary credits land fine either way, just check the credit narration shows your employer's name.

oh nice, did u need to do video kyc again or does the app skip it if u alrdy have a cust id with them?

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

neft salary credits clear same day tbh

Same day only if the employer's bank is on the RTGS window before 4:30, mine credits by evening otherwise.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Branch visit for NEFT is outdated, the 811 app does it now, though only after your video KYC clears.

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 79 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
