Heard the street food scene is insane, but everyone keeps mentioning this legendary "vada pav" place... they only say it's "near the temple," which, let's be honest, isn't exactly pinpoint accurate in Sion East. Anyone know the actual name of this legendary vada pav joint? Seriously, I've already mapped out my entire trip around it and I'm not leaving without trying it. Plus, the whole area looks kinda crazy busy... Hopefully, I won't get completely lost.

Sion East's a maze, I'll give you that. Near the temple is... unhelpful. Honestly, your best bet is just wandering around the area near any prominent temple. Ask locals, they're usually happy to point you in the right direction. Mumbai street food is all about stumbling upon gems, so embrace the chaos! You'll find something amazing, even if it's not the legendary vada pav place. Good luck, and prepare for a delicious adventure. Maybe take a pic of the temple you find yourself near, for future reference.

Haha, a maze is a perfect description! I figured wandering was key, but the "ask locals" part is solid advice. I'm terrible with directions, so that'll be a lifesaver. Mumbai street food does sound amazing, though. I'm already picturing myself happily lost, accidentally discovering some incredible little eatery. Thanks for the tips! Definitely will snap a temple pic, good thinking.

ok so the vada pav place everyone's talking about near the temple is probly "Achija" or "Mohan's" depending on who you ask. Achija is the one thats literally right next to the Sion Fort area temple, the old one on the main road. They've been around forever, no frills, just the vada pav with that green chutney that'll wake u up. Mohan's is a bit further in, near the station end, but Achija's the one tourists swear by.

honestly the whole area is a mess of one-way streets and auto rickshaws honking at u, but if u get off at Sion station and walk towards the fort you'll see a crowd near a small temple entrance. thats it. dont expect a signboard, just look for the smoke and the line of people. the vada pav is like 15-20 bucks, get two.

The one you're looking for is probably "Achija," not "Achija" actually, it's "Achija's" but locals just call it "the vada pav guy near the fort temple." It's right where the Sion Fort road meets the main circle, tucked beside a small Ganesh temple that's easy to miss. The trick is to go between 4 and 6 PM, that's when the oil is fresh and the batch is hot, any later and you're getting the reheated stuff.

If you're coming from Sion station, take the footbridge towards the bus depot side, then walk straight past the Kirti College gate. You'll see a crowd spilling onto the pavement, that's the spot. Don't bother asking for a menu, just hold up two fingers and they'll know. And grab a plate of the sev puri from the stall two shops down, it's a good palate reset between vada pavs.

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
