Nah, I've never heard of a "whispering path" in Sion East, near the station. Sounds like a local legend, maybe spun up by some bored college kids. The area around Sion station is pretty densely packed – you'd think something like that would be more, well, known. But hey, exploring is half the fun. If you stumble on it, take pictures!
