I've heard wildly differing stories about the place, from amazing care to complete chaos. Has anyone had recent experience there, either as a patient or a visitor? I'm particularly interested in the wait times for non-emergency procedures and the overall cleanliness/hygiene standards. Any insights would be hugely appreciated...it's making me incredibly anxious.

Worth knowing that CritiCare Asia is a roughly 200 bed setup and that shapes everything. For a planned surgery the bottleneck usually isn't the operation theatre, it's getting a bed allotted after the surgeon confirms the date, so push the surgeon's secretary to block one early rather than sorting it on admission day. On hygiene, the wards and OT are generally fine, it's the shared washrooms near the general ward that slip, so ask for a room with an attached bath if your budget allows. Also carry a file with her old prescriptions and allergy list in English, the duty resident will ask and it saves a lot of back and forth.

I've had two relatives treated at CritiCare Asia in Andheri East, most recently my father-in-law's knee replacement last October. The surgical team was genuinely good, but the administrative side is where the chaos stories come from, billing especially. Get everything in writing upfront, ask for an itemized estimate, and nominate one family member to handle the front desk so you're not all getting different answers. For a planned surgery you're usually looking at a day or two for pre-op tests, and hygiene in the wards was fine, though the general waiting area gets crowded by evening.

CritiCare Asia runs two separate setups, the Andheri East one off the WEH and the smaller one near Juhu, so double check which your aunt is booked at because people mix them up and then compare notes that don't match. Since it's a family emergency and you're flying in, the thing that'll save you the most stress is getting a local number on the ground, a cousin or neighbour who can physically go stand in the queue when you can't. Also, if she hasn't been admitted yet, ask the surgeon's office for the pre-op checklist in advance so you can bring the reports from your side, it cuts a full day off. The doctors are generally solid, it's the coordination that frays when the place is full.

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
