Prakash Inn Quirks?

Stayed at Prakash Inn last week in Mumbai. The staff was super friendly, rooms were clean enough...but the Wi-Fi was terrible. I mean, dial-up speeds terrible. Seriously, I watched paint dry faster.… Stayed at Prakash Inn last week in Mumbai. The staff was super friendly, rooms were clean enough...but the Wi-Fi was terrible. I mean, dial-up speeds terrible. Seriously, I watched paint dry faster. My question is: does anyone know of any secret, local Wi-Fi hotspots near Prakash Inn that actually work? I need to know for my next trip!

Another option nobody's mentioned: the rows of courier and travel agent offices along Perin Nariman Street, the ones doing visa work, usually have a business broadband line and will let you sit in their waiting area if you're getting something done or just ask nicely. Not glamorous but the connection is meant for actual work so it holds up. If you'd rather not depend on anyone's goodwill, pick up an Airtel or Jio prepaid SIM at the start of your trip, data is cheap and you'll stop hunting for passwords entirely.

the real trick around there is to skip cafes entirely and use the free wifi at horniman circle garden, it reaches partway down the side streets off perin nariman. also the post office on mg road has a decent public connection if you go early before the queue builds, i've done video calls from the bench outside. one thing nobody mentions, most of the older lodges run on a single router so ask reception to reset it, sometimes that alone doubles your speed

if u need actual speed for calls or uploads the fort area is rough in general, those old walls eat signals. i usually just walk 10 min to the mcdonalds near churchgate station, wifi is free and decent & nobody rushes u. or grab a day pass at a jio store nearby, like 20 bucks for 1gb, way more reliable than hunting cafes

I want to sell my old clothes

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
