Finding Suman Nagar's Best Pani Puri

The thing is, there are a million pani puri stalls. Seriously. How do locals even choose?! Is there a secret, a hidden champion, an unwritten rule among the residents for finding the absolute best pani puri in Suman Nagar? I want to avoid the tourist traps and find an authentic local experience. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

the real move is to go during off-peak hours, like 4pm. the stalls are less rushed and the pani water hasn't been sitting out as long. i swear by the one opposite the sitaram building, the aunty there adds a pinch of chaat masala to each puri before filling it, which most places skip. also, don't be shy to ask for a "sweet and spicy" mix of the two waters, that's the local hack for balancing flavors

ok so the real trick in suman nagar is to watch how they make the water. stalls that prep their pani fresh in front of you, with visible mint and coriander, usually care more. also ask for "teekha" they'll respect you more and might actually give you the good batch. there's a guy named ganesh near the hanuman mandir who uses a little raw mango in his water, it's a game changer. just avoid the ones with pre-filled puris sitting out, that's tourist bait

Forget the "best", that's subjective anyway. Just wander around Suman Nagar, look for the stalls with the longest lines. Seriously, the sheer volume of people is your best indicator. Mumbai's street food scene thrives on word-of-mouth; if a place is consistently busy, it's probably worth a try. Plus, you'll get a better feel for the area that way. Don't overthink it. Grab a plate and enjoy the chaos.

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
