Chembur's Hidden Lanes?

All the guidebooks focus on the main streets, but I've heard whispers of amazing little eateries and shops tucked away in the backstreets. What are some of the best hidden gems (or not so hidden, I'm not picky!) to discover in Chembur's quieter neighborhoods? I want to experience something authentically Chemburian, you know? Something beyond the usual tourist traps. Any recommendations on how to navigate those smaller lanes and uncover those local treasures would be greatly appreciated!

honestly the best stuff in Chembur is near the station east side, not the west. walk out of Chembur station east and head into the lanes behind the bus depot, that whole pocket around Sahakar Nagar has been feeding locals for decades. try the misal pav at a tiny stall near Ambedkar Garden around 8am, it sells out by 9. for shopping skip the malls and poke around the goldsmith lanes off Central Avenue, half those shops have been there since my dad was a kid. just walk, the grid is confusing but everything connects eventually.

if ur coming next week try the byculla side of chembur instead, the pocket behind Diamond Garden around 4pm when the office crowd clears out. there's an old guy doing vada pav with dry garlic chutney near the Ghatla bus stop that nobody talks about, way better than the famous places tbh. for lanes, just follow the smell of frying & the sound of temple bells, the whole grid between Central Ave & the monorail line is walkable in like 20 mins. skip sunday tho, half the shops shut & it gets weirdly empty

chembur is dead flat so just walk everywhere, but the real move is the fish market near Basant park around 6am, go early or forget it

I want to sell my old clothes

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
