Chembur's Hidden Lanes?

Anyone know of any specific spots or routes to explore for a truly authentic Chembur food experience? I'm all about the hole-in-the-wall places, the ones locals love. It's my first time in this part of Mumbai, so any tips are greatly appreciated!

fwiw if you're near the old khalsa college side around 9am, there's a guy who sells missal pav with a twist - he uses dried coconut in the gravy, not the usual watery stuff. most people miss him cos he's tucked behind the bus stop near the siddharth colony gate. also the lane behind chembur market has a guy who does sukha chicken from a pushcart on sundays only, he starts at 7pm and wraps up by 9.30 once it's gone it's gone. carry your own tissue paper and small notes, nobody has change for a 500 there

Hit up the lanes near Bharat Nagar. Seriously, some incredible stuff is crammed in there. You'll find more chai stalls than you can shake a stick at, and the vada pav is legendary. Don't be afraid to wander, that's where the real finds are. Also, check out the area around the Chembur railway station, always a buzz of activity, and good food usually follows. Trust your gut; if a place is packed with locals, it's worth a shot. Good luck! You'll eat well in Chembur.

yeah if you go past the diamond garden signal towards the siddharth nagar side, there's this lane with a guy who does misal pav only till 11am. it's a small cart with a red umbrella, no name, but the gravy is thick and spicy compared to the watery stuff you get elsewhere. also try the chaat from the uncle near amba bhavan temple in the evening, his dahi puri has this sweet-tangy chutney that's hard to find outside chembur. carry small change, nobody has change for a 500 there

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
