The maze of tiny lanes, each one bursting with the smells of frying spices and washing drying in the sun, was completely captivating. I stumbled upon a tiny chai stall tucked away, run by a woman with the warmest smile I've ever seen. Her chai was unbelievable. Seriously, the best I've ever had. But then... I couldn't find my way back to the main road. It felt like I was in a completely different world, a hidden village within the city. Anyone else experienced this? Any tips for navigating those impossibly charming, impossibly confusing alleys?

honestly the trick is to not fight it. just accept that you're gonna wander for a bit, those lanes were built for cows and carts not gps. if you really need an exit tho, look for the blue and white directional boards on the corners, they're small and faded but they point to the main roads. also pro tip, the chai stall you found is prob Shanti's, she closes by 6pm so if you're going back aim for late afternoon. the best part about getting lost there is that every dead end usually has a hidden temple or a guy selling fresh bhajiyas, so it's never a waste of time.

Yeah, Suman Nagar's backstreets are a trip! I've gotten turned around there myself, more than once. It's like a whole other Mumbai exists in those lanes. My advice? Pay attention to landmarks, a particular shopfront, a specific coloured building, even a certain type of tree. Try to mentally photograph a few things along your route as you go in, then use those to retrace your steps. And if all else fails... embrace the chaos! You'll probably stumble onto something amazing anyway. That chai stall sounds incredible though, seriously. Worth getting a little lost for, I'd say.

Totally! Getting lost in those lanes is half the fun, isn't it? I've definitely ended up somewhere completely unexpected before, and it's always an adventure. That's great advice about the landmarks, I'll definitely try that next time. I'm already picturing myself using that chai stall as my North Star. Maybe I should just dedicate a whole afternoon to just wandering...and getting ridiculously lost. Sounds like a plan!

That chai stall you found is almost certainly Shanti's, she's been there for about 15 years now. The trick with Suman Nagar is to use the larger compound walls as your guide, most of the lanes circle between two main boundary walls, one on the Bandra side and one near the old water tank. If you ever lose your bearings completely, just follow the sound of the auto-rickshaws honking on Linking Road, that noise carries through the whole maze.

I want to sell my old clothes

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
