Finding Peace in the Concrete Jungle?

From what I've seen online, it seems pretty densely packed. My aunt says it's surprisingly quiet though, and has little pockets of green. My question is: are there any unexpectedly peaceful spots within Indian Airlines Colony, little hidden oases where someone could just sit and read a book without the city noise overwhelming them? I'm hoping to escape the chaos for a few hours each day. I've always loved finding those little secret corners in bustling cities.

Your aunt's right, it really is quieter than you'd expect given the location. Near the back of the colony, by the old staff quarters, there's a small patch of garden with a couple of benches that hardly anyone uses, especially on weekday afternoons. The bougainvillea is pretty overgrown there and it blocks out most of the road noise. Grab a chai from the little stall near the main gate on your way in and you're set for a couple of hours.

Yeah, the colony's actually got this weird quiet vibe that feels out of place for Santacruz. There's a little corner near the old swimming pool that's usually deserted, with a few trees and a broken bench where the maintenance guys store their gear. It's not fancy, but the wall blocks out the traffic pretty well and you can hear birds more than honking.

there's a tiny rooftop terrace on top of one of the older buildings, the one with the faded blue paint near the community center. nobody really goes up there except to hang laundry but the view is just rooftops and trees, and the noise kinda disappears. you'll need to ask the watchman for the key to the staircase though

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 9 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
