honestly the wifi there has always been a joke, i think they're still running on a 2010 connection. if you're back in that area, hit up the cafe 2 blocks down on jacob circle road - they've got solid wifi and decent chai, plus the owner won't mind you campin' out for a bit. the whole place runs on old school charm like those creaky wooden stairs and the fan that sounds like it's gonna take flight, but yeah the internet's not part of that package lol

youre not unlucky, that wifi is a legend in its own time - i think theyre still running on a single adsl line from 2008 or something. if you need to work, theres a library reading room on the first floor near the stairs where the signal actually works decently, its where all the regulars hide out. also theres a guy who sells local sims with unlimited data for like 200 bucks at the paan shop on the corner of saibaba road, way cheaper than a portable router

The wifi at Prakash Inn is notoriously bad, I think they share a single connection with the whole building. If you're staying in that part of Colaba again, try the Kala Ghoda Cafe on Rope Walk Lane instead of a portable router, their connection is solid and the filter coffee is worth the walk. The old school charm is part of the deal there, but yeah, the internet is definitely not.

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
