What's actually the best hidden gem for street food there, beyond the usual vada pav and pav bhaji? I want something truly local and unforgettable. My friend keeps saying there's this amazing little place tucked away that only the locals know about... I need specifics!

Honestly, pinpointing the best-kept secret is tough. Chembur's street food scene is all about stumbling upon amazing stuff. Forget specifics, just wander around the lanes near the Chembur railway station after sunset. That's where the real action is. You'll find tiny stalls tucked into alleyways, selling things you won't see anywhere else... look for crowds. Trust me, the lines usually mean something delicious. Don't be afraid to try anything that looks interesting and smells amazing. That's half the fun! You'll probably find something far better than anything anyone can recommend in advance. Happy eating!

prakash's toasties are good but the real hidden gem is the guy who makes misal pav inside the navjeevan society compound. it's not even a proper stall, just a tiffin service that started selling to walk-ins. he's there from 8am to 11am only, no dinner option. the farsan on top is house-made and he uses a really specific goda masala that i haven't found anywhere else in chembur. look for the blue gate on the left after you enter from the 90 feet road side

oh man, forget the railway station chaos. head to the little lane opposite the old fire brigade station, near the diamond garden. there's a guy who sets up around 7pm selling these insane chilli cheese toasties, but with his own spicy chutney and a secret masala mix... it's not a typical mumbai street food thing at all, kinda like a local invention. his name's Prakash, just look for the tiny cart with the red umbrella

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
