Heard it's a pretty chilled-out suburb, a nice change from the usual Mumbai hustle. My main concern is finding a good spot for a quiet evening stroll, somewhere peaceful, maybe with a nice view, away from the traffic. Any recommendations for a less-crowded, serene area within GTBN? I'm envisioning a place to just unwind and clear my head after a busy day exploring the city.

honestly just walk towards the Mithi river at sunset, near the Bandra-Kurla Complex side of GTBN. it's not a flashy view but the open sky and water reflection hit different when the city lights start flickering on. i usually find a bench near the Kalanagar junction, pretty quiet after 7pm

if u want greenery instead, try the GTB Nagar market garden, small but locals barely use it. there's a little temple tucked in the corner, nice spot to just sit and breathe, no traffic noise just birds

The Sion Fort area on the GTBN side is worth the short walk. It's a quiet hillock with a small fort ruin, hardly anyone goes there in the evenings. You get a decent view of the city skyline and the railway tracks from the top, and the breeze makes it feel miles away from the chaos. Just take the lane opposite the Sion Circle, it's a five-minute climb.

yeah the streets around the gurudwara itself are pretty quiet in the evenings, specially the back lanes near the railway station. there's this small lane running parallel to the main road, barely any cars, just locals walking their dogs or old folks sitting on their porches. good for a slow wander without dodging traffic

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
