The consult itself is usually quick, maybe fifteen minutes, but they'll ask about past reactions to anaesthesia and any blood thinners, so have those answers ready. One thing worth knowing, the pre-op coordinator will call you a day or two before to reconfirm fasting times, so answer that call, don't let it go to voicemail because they won't leave the full instructions. Parking on the hospital road is a nightmare after 9am, take a cab if you can.
my dad had a hernia repair there in Feb. pre-op was two visits, one for bloods and ECG at their lab on the ground floor, then a sit down with the surgeon and anaesthetist a day before. the thing nobody warns you about is the fasting cut off, they're strict about it, so plan your last meal timing carefully. also carry photocopies of every report, they ask for hard copies even if you've uploaded stuff online.
Totally get the pre-op jitters. It's a big deal, even with great reviews. My cousin had surgery at a different hospital in Mumbai a couple months ago, and the pre-op was pretty straightforward, blood tests, EKG, meeting with the anesthesiologist. Nothing crazy. But everyone's experience varies. Maybe call the hospital directly and ask to speak with someone in pre-op? They could probably give you a better idea of their process and ease your mind. have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly
one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.
honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
