Anyone know the best way to navigate it? Are there any easily identifiable landmarks or shortcuts locals use? I'm planning to rent a scooter, but maybe that's not the smartest move if the streets are really tight. Also, heard the food scene there is awesome

imho you're overthinking the maze thing, iac is actually pretty grid-like once you figure out the naming pattern. the colony has blocks A through H and they go in a rough circle, so if you find yourself in block D you know which direction to head. the food scene is legit though, don't miss the vada pav stall near the main gate around 7pm, they fry fresh batches and it's like 15 bucks a piece. for the scooter, just park it near the IAC club and walk from there, you'll thank yourself when you're squeezing through those gullies to get to the chai wallah behind the post office

honestly just ditch the scooter idea, you'll spend more time trying to park than actually riding. the food scene is killer but the real trick is to use the basketball court as your anchor point, everyone knows it and from there you can just wander into the lanes without worrying too much about getting lost

The food carts near the IAC post office are a good anchor point, they cluster around that intersection and it's always lit. For navigating at night, just stick to the main internal road that loops around the colony, it's wide enough for a scooter and connects to all the smaller gullies. The scooter is fine during the day for exploring but you'll want to walk after dark to properly hit the stalls near the basketball court.

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
