Seriously, the sheer density of people and the constant buzz is something else. I've spent my days trying to find a quiet spot to just... breathe. The parks are always full, the streets are a vibrant, overwhelming whirlwind. But, there's this strange charm to it all, a sense of community you don't find elsewhere. I'm wondering, are there any hidden oases or quieter pockets within the colony itself, places a visitor might miss? Somewhere to escape the relentless energy for a while?

honestly, the colony itself is pretty dense but if you walk towards the back near the kalina side, there's a quiet lane behind the old staff quarters that most people skip. also the little garden next to the santacruz police station gate is usually empty on weekday afternoons, the security guard is chill if you just sit on the wall there. otherwise just go to the rooftop of any building that lets you up, the view of the airport runway is surprisingly calming at sunset

The rooftop idea is solid. But there's also the old canteen near the staff quarters, the one that looks closed but isn't. Grab a chai from the aunty who runs it around 4pm, sit on the plastic chairs out back. It's just the sound of pressure cookers and distant planes, and she won't bother you if you bring your own cup. Alternatively, the little lane that runs parallel to the main road, just behind the row of auto rickshaw stands, has a few benches under a banyan tree that are almost always empty because nobody thinks to look there.

Have you tried the smaller lanes and byways off the main roads in Indian Airlines Colony? Sometimes the quietest spots are tucked away, almost invisible. You might find a small temple courtyard, or maybe a residential area with less traffic. Even a quiet corner of a larger park, away from the main entrance, might offer a bit of respite. It's all about finding those little pockets of calm within the chaos. Worth exploring!

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
