Suman Nagar Street Food Showdown?

I've heard the vada pav is legendary, and the chaat stalls are non-stop action. But my friend warned me about some dodgy stalls, you know, the ones that look a little... questionable. Any locals wanna give me the lowdown on the BEST and SAFEST places to grab a bite? I wanna avoid any stomach issues, you feel me?

the guy near the municipal school is solid, but if you want vada pav that's consistently good without the gamble, go to the small cart on the lane opposite the suman nagar post office. it's run by an older couple, they don't have a flashy setup but the chutney is made fresh each morning and the vada is never oily. for chaat, avoid the big lit-up stalls near the main road - try the tiny plastic chair setup by the pharmacy on tilak road instead, the dahi puri there is properly chilled and they use filtered water, which is the real stomach saver around here

honestly, skip the main junction stalls and head to the one right outside the municipal school on jyotiba phule road. the guy there has been running it for like 15 years and his batata vada is always fresh, never reheated oil. also try the misal pav from the cart near the suman nagar bus stop, it's run by a family and they use proper masala, my go-to for a safe spicy fix

If you want the safest option, go for the fruit salad stall near the Suman Nagar garden - the guy chops everything fresh right in front of you and uses bottled water for the chaat masala. His anar and raw mango mix with spices is a solid pick, no reheated oil or mystery water involved.

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
