Been hearing whispers about this old Parsi colony tucked away somewhere, apparently it's got some seriously cool, almost hidden, architecture. Anyone know how easy it is to actually find these places? I'm not into organized tours, more of a wander-around-and-get-lost type. Hoping to stumble upon some amazing hidden cafes or shops while I'm at it. Seriously curious about this area.

Sion East can be a bit of a maze, but that's half the fun! The Parsi colony isn't exactly "hidden," more like... tucked away. You'll find plenty of interesting architecture just by wandering around; it's not super-concentrated in one spot. Just keep your eyes peeled, the older buildings are pretty distinct. As for cafes and shops, your best bet is to just roam around. There are some cool smaller places that aren't always on the main drags, so exploring the side streets is key. You might get lucky and stumble on something amazing! Honestly, getting lost there is part of the charm. Happy exploring!

honestly the colony you're thinking of is prob the one near the old Rustomjee building on Sion Trombay Road. it's not super hidden but most people just walk past the entrance cause it looks like a regular gate. the real charm is the little lane behind the Irani bakery where the chaiwallahs set up shop around sunset.

you'll find some pretty good vada pav stalls tucked in those side streets too. there's this one near the municipal school that does a spicy chutney version. just follow the noise from the evening cricket matches and you'll end up somewhere interesting.

idk about finding specific colonies but the sunset view from that overpass near the station is pretty great if ur into photography. just keep an eye on the traffic

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
