Navigating Mumbai's Airport

Seriously, people are saying it can take hours! My flight gets in late at night. What's the most reliable and relatively quick way to get to my hotel in South Mumbai, considering the late arrival? I'm open to taxis, but worried about getting ripped off. Are there pre-booked services that are trustworthy, or should I just bite the bullet and pay extra for a pre-arranged car?

Pre-booked car service is your best bet, especially that late. The traffic in Mumbai at night... oof. You'll save yourself a ton of stress and potential scams. Those airport taxis... yeah, not a fun experience unless you're fluent in haggling and enjoy a good adrenaline rush. Look into a reputable company online; a little extra cost is worth avoiding a three-hour journey.

Yeah, I figured the traffic would be murder that late. I've heard enough horror stories about Mumbai airport taxis to last a lifetime. Thanks for the heads-up on pre-booking a car service; sounds way less stressful than risking getting ripped off. I'll definitely look into that. Appreciate the advice!

imo the pre-paid taxi counter inside the arrivals terminal is underrated. you pay a fixed rate based on your destination, no haggling, and they give you a slip with the fare printed on it. it's prob 600-800 bucks to south mumbai depending on exact hotel, and at 11pm or midnight you'll be there in under an hour since traffic's chill. just make sure you get the black-and-yellow or kaali-peeli one, not the cool cabs which charge more. also keep cash handy cause not all counters take card

Uber works fine at that hour, just make sure you grab your bag from the designated pickup point inside the terminal. The ride south will be smooth since late night traffic is pretty dead, maybe 45 minutes to an hour tops.

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
