Navigating Mumbai Airport

the ac bus is decent but honestly the metro is the move if ur at T2 and staying anywhere near the fort or colaba. line 3's got luggage space but it gets packed at churchgate during rush, so if ur landing after 5pm just wait out the peak at the airport cafe or something. also, dont bother with the prepaid taxi counter inside, the black and yellow app one is cheaper and u can track the driver while ur still grabbing ur bags.

one thing nobody mentions, the airport has a dedicated pick-up lane for app cabs now, u gotta walk to the far end of arrivals, past the food court, and the driver'll meet u there. saves u the chaos of the main exit where everyone's honking. and if u land before 8am, skip everything, just grab a rickshaw to the vikhroli station and take the local train to csmt, it's 20 mins and 50 rupees, way faster than any road option at that hour. just keep ur big bag on ur lap, the luggage rack's a myth on those trains.

fwiw, if you're landing at T2 and your hotel is anywhere near Colaba or Fort, the AC bus service (route A1 or A2) is a solid middle ground. it's like 150 rupees, runs every 20 mins, and drops you at the CST bus depot, then a short rickshaw or cab hop to your place. luggage's fine, they've got a rack at the back, just keep your big bag with you if you're tall, the seats are cramped.

also, don't stress about check-in times too much. most south mumbai hotels are used to flight delays and traffic chaos, they'll hold your room till noon or so if you call ahead from the airport. just ring them while you're waiting for bags, saves the panic. and if you do take a cab, ask the driver to go via the sea link, it's a bit longer in km but way smoother than the western express highway during the day.

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
