Seriously, people are saying it's like a scene from a disaster movie. My flight's at 7 am, which I know is early, but how early should I actually arrive to avoid missing my flight? I'm trying to be realistic here, not just some crazy person showing up at midnight... I'm mostly worried about security

yeah 4 am is prob fine but if you're flying domestic from t1 give yourself an extra 15-20 mins, that place is a zoo even at 6 am. also keep an eye on the digiyatra app if you have aadhaar linked, it lets you skip the id check at security and saves like 10 mins.

7 am is actually not bad for T2 at least, the real chaos starts around 9-10 when the international banks open up. security lines move faster early morning tbh, i'd say get there by 4:30 and you'll be fine, maybe 4 if you have check-in baggage and the airline counters are slow. just make sure you have the web check-in done and a digital boarding pass ready so you can skip the counter queue

honestly the t1 vs t2 thing matters a lot, if ur flying domestic from t1 the security is way tighter cause it's the older terminal and they still do that manual bag check thing sometimes. t2 has the new scanners so it's faster. 4:30 is fine for 7 am domestic, 4 if international cause immigration can be a gamble depending on how many flights to the gulf are leaving at the same time. also the food options past security at t2 are decent so u can grab a chai and a vada pav once you're through instead of rushing

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
