skip the hotels, honestly. for breakfast hit kalika fast food near city center, their kachori and ghugni is the real deal, super local and cheap. for dinner, go to basudhara on benachity road, it's a proper bengali place, the kosha mangsho with luchi is killer, not fancy at all but packed with regulars. if u want something lighter at night, try the roadside momo stalls near durgapur station, they're surprisingly good and open late. avoid the malls, all generic chain stuff.

yeah so everyone says basudhara and whatever, but if u actually wanna taste what durgapur people eat at home, go to maa kali hotel near the bus stand, the thali is insane, fish curry + dal + rice + achar for like 100 bucks, no menu
