Solid guide. A few things to add. The Annapurna Bhojanalaya lunch they mention is legit but get there before 12:30 or the dal and rice run out. For the silver market, skip the shops right on Mal Godown Bazar main road and go one lane behind it, the prices drop by at least INR 100 on similar pieces because those stalls have less foot traffic. Also, if you are near the Barabati Fort area around 6 AM, the ghats are quiet and you can sometimes see local fishermen bringing in their catch, makes for a good photo without anyone in the frame.
good list. one thing i'd add is that the bus from badambadi to the balikuda beach stop is actually route 47 and it runs every 20 mins, costs inr 12, and the conductor will usually point u where to get off if u tell him beach. also for the cheap eats, dalma's thali is great but if u want something lighter the chhena poda at the little stall next to the bus stand in buxi bazar is inr 15 and they make it fresh every morning, tastes way better than the packaged stuff. and if u're doing the heritage walk, the guide mentioned the stepwell but didn't say there's a tiny hanuman shrine inside it that locals still light lamps at, kinda neat to peek in
the free heritage walk is legit, i did it last month and the guide pointed out a 300-year-old stepwell hidden behind a chai stall near the silver market, totally worth the early start. also, for the bali yatra tip, the chhena poda at the stalls near the main stage is usually cheaper than the ones closer to the entrance, like inr 15 instead of 20. one thing the guide missed is that the mahanadi ghats at sunset have these little boat rides for inr 20 per person, not exactly free but cheap and gives a killer view of the fort from the water

the guide's spot on about badambadi being central but honestly i'd skip hotel akbari and try hotel kalinga just off the main road instead. rooms are about the same price but the staff actually knows the good street food spots nearby. for budget stays near the station, don't expect much from shree ganesh past midnight because the noise from the trains can get annoying. bidanasi is great if you want quiet but you'll need a scooter or auto to get anywhere fun.
fwiw the digital nomad suggestion is a bit optimistic for cuttack. i work remote and tried the co-working space near cuttack club last year, wifi was decent but it gets packed during college hours. better to check out the cafes on bhubaneswar road near the flyover, they have backup generators and the power cuts here are frequent in summer. monthly rentals in that area are closer to 12-14k now though, prices went up since 2024
honestly i'd recommend the cantonment area if you're with family, stayed at hotel swampati last year and the rooms were huge plus theres this great little park right behind it where kids can run around. for nature lovers the riverfront near barabati is nice at sunset but those eco-lodges can be hard to find so better call ahead instead of just showing up
