Try Hotel Buhari on Anna Salai instead, their seeraga samba mutton biriyani beats most spots around Central.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

buhari's anna salai branch is the one that matters, the mount road side ones are inconsistent tbh

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Seeraga samba is the right call there, though I'd ask for the brinjal curry on the side too, it's easy to miss.

arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

brinjal curry is the tell, kathirikai gothsu if they have it

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

visited last year, Central Biriyani's mutton is solid but they sell out by 2pm most days so go before noon.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah before noon is right but sunday fills up even faster, i'd say 11:30. get the mutton and ask for extra salna on the side, that's the whole point

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

extra salna is the move for sure. only thing id add is bring cash, their card machine is hit or miss on busy mornings

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Weekdays go closer to 1pm, weekends earlier.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Monday's the exception, gone closer to noon

bhai biriyani on sydenhams road, go early

Long stay permit in Chennai 2026, which one do I need?

Does the e-visa work for a few months or do I have to apply for something else before I land? Also curious what usually goes wrong with the paperwork so I can avoid it.
arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

e-visa won't cover a long stint

arrow_drop_up 13 arrow_drop_down

Right, and the 180 day gap rule trips people up.

arrow_drop_up 20 arrow_drop_down

the 2-month gap between re-entry counts from exit stamp

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

2 months if u exit by land, 180 only for air

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Correct, and the 180 day gap is what catches people.

arrow_drop_up -1 arrow_drop_down

Agreed, and the usual trap is the entry-type mismatch: tourist e-visa can't be converted in-country, so you'd exit and reapply as employment or business.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

true for tourist ones, entry visa is the long-stay route

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Yep, tourist e-visa maxes at 90 days, so for a few months you'd want an entry visa applied for before landing.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

unless its an entry visa applied for before u land

Tourist e-visas cap at 90 days, so anything longer needs an entry visa arranged before you land.
