Take the MRTS from Egmore to Mylapore, it's cheap and beats Egmore traffic, but go before 8 or the filter coffee crowd fills it.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

sounds about right, go closer to 7 if u can

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

the 8:15 office rush is the real cutoff, not 9

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Yeah, 8:15 is when the regulars land.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Worth it for the filter coffee and the old tiled interior, though the food is fairly standard. If you're going by bus, the 21G from Egmore station side drops you close on Kutchery Road. I'd aim for 7:30 since the office crowd hits hard after 8:30. Cash is easier than cards there.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

7:30 still cuts it, the 8:15 office rush is the killer

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

7:15 if u want a seat without hovering

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Second this, Tuesdays are quieter than Mondays

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

also grab a dabara set from the counter before u leave, cheaper there than most shops

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

got mine at the counter for like 250 last time, the ones on pothys side run closer to 400 for the same grade

Best biriyani near Central Station Chennai 2026?

Try Hotel Buhari on Anna Salai instead, their seeraga samba mutton biriyani beats most spots around Central.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

buhari's anna salai branch is the one that matters, the mount road side ones are inconsistent tbh

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Seeraga samba is the right call there, though I'd ask for the brinjal curry on the side too, it's easy to miss.

arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

visited last year, Central Biriyani's mutton is solid but they sell out by 2pm most days so go before noon.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah before noon is right but sunday fills up even faster, i'd say 11:30. get the mutton and ask for extra salna on the side, that's the whole point

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

extra salna is the move for sure. only thing id add is bring cash, their card machine is hit or miss on busy mornings

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Weekdays go closer to 1pm, weekends earlier.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

bhai biriyani on sydenhams road, go early
