try the weekend morning crowd at a cafe in besant nagar, same regulars every saturday. i visited once and people just pulled up chairs together. check the notice board at chamiers road spots too, weekly runs get posted there

Beachside is a bit scattered though, hard to find the same faces reliably. The Besant Nagar cafes just off the beach have more of a fixed Saturday crowd. Also, check if there's a noticeboard, weekly runs get posted there.

The climbing gyms around Alwarpet and Kilpauk run weekly beginner sessions, same faces every Tuesday. Also check the Chennai Trekking Club meetups, they do Sunday walks that turn into regular groups.

good shout on the gyms. fwiw the bouldering crowd usually spills over to a chai stall nearby after sessions, thats where ppl actually swap numbers. ask the front desk which evening has the steadiest regulars before u commit

honestly the app scene skews heavily toward OMR tech crowd, so if ur living around Anna Nagar or Mylapore it's mostly cousins' friends and temple/sabha circles instead.
