Sangeetha Veg, Mylapore side, mornings.

Agree, though I'd go before 8am to beat the rush.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

weekday mornings are calmer than saturdays

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Yea their degree coffee's solid but ask for it strong or it comes out kinda milky.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

double shot of decoction and it holds up

I've only been there on trips, but Luz Corner is another good bet if you're in that area. Their filter coffee runs around 30 to 40 rupees now. Go before the office crowd hits or you'll be standing.

Ask for the davara set if you want it served the old way, and their mysore pak is worth adding for 20 rupees or so.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

The davara set is the move, though I'd skip the sugar and let the meter coffee do the talking.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

last time the davara set came to 35 with the mysore pak on the side, worth checking the rate before u order

Their Mylapore branch beats the Kutchery Road one for consistency, and the morning tiffin crowd clears out by 9:30.

250 for coffee plus a snack at a station is tourist pricing, the actual coffee is maybe 40 to 60 rupees at any normal stall.

yeah the 40 to 60 is for a plain filter kaapi at a stall, station cafes always tack on extra for the convenience

arrow_drop_up -4 arrow_drop_down

40 to 60 sounds right for a roadside kaapi stall

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Add the snack and it's closer to 80.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

station markup is a separate racket, 40 to 60 is platform stalls

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

The snack's what pushes it up, kaapi alone is cheap

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

True at a proper kaapi stall, though even the station stalls inside Central run 15 to 20 for a small cup.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Depends where, Komala Vilas is closer to 30.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Central has an upstairs veg canteen, cheaper.
