The coffee's decent but honestly the vibe carries it more than teh brew. Try a nearby Sangeetha or any Saravana Bhavan for a cheaper cup that holds up fine. Ask for it "strong" or they'll water it down.

Fair point, though ask for it in a davara-tumbler and the ratio holds better than any paper cup.

arrow_drop_up 14 arrow_drop_down

Agree on the "strong" ask, otherwise it's basically hot brown water.

Second this, but ask for less sugar too.

Go before 8am or after 4pm, filter coffee runs around 30 to 40 rupees, and the T Nagar crowd thins out mid-afternoon.

arrow_drop_up 14 arrow_drop_down

Right around 11am is another quiet window, and ask for the coffee in a davara set if you want the proper experience.

Mid-afternoon works but the place gets packed again around 5.30 with the office crowd. Budget a bit more than 40 if you want the davara set.

Weekend mornings are a different beast though, expect a queue by 7.30 even on Saturday.

Not sure it's worth a special trip. Any small kaapi kadai near Panagal Park does a solid cup for cheap. Check it out if you're passing, don't plan around it.

agreed, filter kaapi at Mylapore joint beats it tbh

Sangeetha Veg, Mylapore side, mornings.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Agree, though I'd go before 8am to beat the rush.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Yea their degree coffee's solid but ask for it strong or it comes out kinda milky.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

I've only been there on trips, but Luz Corner is another good bet if you're in that area. Their filter coffee runs around 30 to 40 rupees now. Go before the office crowd hits or you'll be standing.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Ask for the davara set if you want it served the old way, and their mysore pak is worth adding for 20 rupees or so.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

The davara set is the move, though I'd skip the sugar and let the meter coffee do the talking.

Their Mylapore branch beats the Kutchery Road one for consistency, and the morning tiffin crowd clears out by 9:30.
