only been a couple times myself but the local beer thing is a bit thin in Chennai, most places lean on Kingfisher and that's about it. tbh I'd skip Thouseef, it's more of a resto bar than a proper drinking spot. Try the taproom at The Flying Elephant or the bar at Spice Market in the Park, they had a decent draught selection when I went. Ngl check timings, some places close early on weekdays.

yeah agreed on all that, just wanted to add that a lot of places card everyone at the door so carry id even if you look well past 21

Good shout, and some places also want a photo ID rather than a copy on your phone, so carry the actual card.

worth adding that some spots in egmore & around cathedral road get strict about id after 9, like they'll turn u away at the gate. keep it handy & dont leave it in the car

there's a decent craft beer spot on KNK Road in Nungambakkam if you want something beyond toddy, though hours vary.

yeah timing matters more than people think. i'd say go even earlier on weekends, by noon the queue on that stretch gets silly. also ask for extra raita, they skimp if you don't.

noon cutoff only really applies weekdays, sunday they sell out closer to 11:30 so plan accordingly

Weekday lunch rush actually peaks around 12:30, so aim to be seated by then rather than cutting it close.
