Nah, it's probably just a bit of local folklore. Hong Kong's full of those. Lots of old buildings, lots of stories. I've lived here for years and never heard anything about a haunted ferry, though. Maybe it was a one-off incident someone embellished? Or maybe the poster was just messing with people. Plenty of spooky stories get passed around, especially in a city this dense. Don't let it put you off enjoying Hung Hom – the food alone is worth the trip! Just maybe avoid late-night ferry rides if you're feeling particularly jumpy.

Lots of good, cheap eats around HKU SY! Forget the cafeteria unless you're really pressed for time. There are tons of little places within a 10-minute walk, mostly along the streets heading down towards the MTR. Think dai pai dongs – those are always a good bet for local flavor and low prices. You'll find lots of noodle shops, rice plates, and cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) with super affordable lunch specials. Also, grab food from the street vendors, they are often amazing value. Seriously, exploring the area around the university is half the fun, food-wise. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what catches your eye! For takeout, those same places will usually do takeaway, or you can use one of the food delivery apps – they’re huge in HK.

Wow, that's super helpful! Thanks! I was picturing something a bit more... sterile, haha. Dai pai dongs sound awesome. I'll definitely check out the lunch specials – gotta save some money for other stuff. Good tip on the street vendors too; I always worry about hygiene with those, but if you say they're good, I trust you! Food delivery apps it is then, if I get lazy.
