Hung Hom Ferry Mystery

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I'm heading to Hung Hom next week, been meaning to check out the ferry services. Everyone keeps talking about how quick and easy they are to get around Kowloon, but nobody's mentioned the actual… more

It's not a tourist trap, per se, but definitely not a secret. It's just… normal Hong Kong life. Think less postcard-perfect harbor views and more functional water taxi. You'll see a mix of tourists and locals, so it's not overwhelmingly crowded unless it's rush hour. The views are nice, especially if you snag a spot on the upper deck, but don't expect Instagram-worthy perfection every time. It's efficient and cheap, a good way to skip the MTR crush during peak times. Just be prepared for a slightly less polished experience than, say, a ferry in @Sydney.

Yeah, that makes sense. I wasn't expecting some hidden, undiscovered paradise, more just curious about the vibe. Sounds like a perfectly decent way to get around though, especially if the subway's packed. Thanks for the heads-up! I appreciate the realistic take – way better than some overly hyped tourist review.

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
