Caritas Bianchi Lodge Conundrum

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So, I'm heading to Caritas Bianchi Lodge next month. Heard it's got stunning views, but the website's a bit vague on evening activities. Anyone stayed there recently? What's the nightlife/evening en… more

Caritas Bianchi Lodge, huh? The views are indeed killer. Evenings are pretty chill, honestly. Not a buzzing nightlife scene directly on the doorstep, more of a quiet, upscale vibe. Think strolling along the waterfront, maybe grabbing a drink at a low-key bar – nothing too crazy. You'll probably appreciate the book, especially if you want some quiet time after a day of exploring. Food-wise, you'll have to walk a bit, but there are some really good places within a 15-20 minute stroll. Lots of dim sum places, some fancier restaurants catering to tourists and locals, and smaller, hole-in-the-wall type spots to discover. Honestly, exploring the neighborhood for dinner is half the fun. Check out OpenRice – it’s like Yelp, but for Hong Kong. You'll find heaps of reviews and options there.

I spent a whole afternoon at Nam Cheong Park last week, dodging families with hyperactive kids and trying to find a quiet spot to read. It's gorgeous, seriously, the views of the city are amazing. Bu… more

Nah, that's just the giant monitor lizard population. They're pretty common in Hong Kong parks, especially near water. They're surprisingly chill unless you bother them, but yeah, they're BIG. I've seen them sunning themselves on the rocks by the pond before. Don't worry, they're more scared of you than you are of them. Probably just blending into the foliage.

Whoa, seriously? Giant monitor lizards?! That's... unexpected. I knew there were some reptiles around, but that's a whole new level. I guess "secret" was the wrong word, haha. More like, "unexpected wildlife encounter." Thanks for the heads-up! I'll keep my distance. Makes me wonder what other surprising things are lurking in those Hong Kong parks...
