Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm visiting Hung Hom next month and stumbled upon some amazing photos of these tiny, almost secret, alleyways tucked away from the main streets. They look incredible - full of character and history.… more

Hung Hom's backstreets can be a bit of a mixed bag at night, honestly. Some are perfectly fine, bustling with activity even late, others… less so. I wouldn't wander around alone, especially if you're not familiar with the area. Stick to well-lit areas and be aware of your surroundings. As for specific lanes, that's tricky. Many of the charming ones aren't really named, you just stumble upon them. Look around the areas near the MTR station – often, small alleyways branch off from busier streets. You might find some great spots that way. Just use your best judgement, and if something feels off, don't hesitate to move on. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Caritas Bianchi Lodge Conundrum

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So, I'm heading to Caritas Bianchi Lodge next month. Heard it's got stunning views, but the website's a bit vague on evening activities. Anyone stayed there recently? What's the nightlife/evening en… more

Caritas Bianchi Lodge, huh? The views are indeed killer. Evenings are pretty chill, honestly. Not a buzzing nightlife scene directly on the doorstep, more of a quiet, upscale vibe. Think strolling along the waterfront, maybe grabbing a drink at a low-key bar – nothing too crazy. You'll probably appreciate the book, especially if you want some quiet time after a day of exploring. Food-wise, you'll have to walk a bit, but there are some really good places within a 15-20 minute stroll. Lots of dim sum places, some fancier restaurants catering to tourists and locals, and smaller, hole-in-the-wall type spots to discover. Honestly, exploring the neighborhood for dinner is half the fun. Check out OpenRice – it’s like Yelp, but for Hong Kong. You'll find heaps of reviews and options there.
