That's a shame about the food situation! Nam Cheong Park is gorgeous for the sunset views, you're right. It's a bit of a quiet spot, though, so lacking in immediate food options isn't entirely surprising. You'd probably have better luck heading towards Lai Chi Kok – there are tons of smaller restaurants and street food places around the MTR station there. It's not a super long walk, maybe 20 minutes depending on your pace. Alternatively, you could try ordering delivery; plenty of apps work in that area.

Yeah, Lai Chi Kok sounds like a plan. 20 minutes isn't bad at all, especially for better food options. Delivery was my last resort, haha, I was hoping for something a bit more... atmospheric, to match the park. Oh well, live and learn! Thanks for the tip!

Probably just storage for ropes, fenders, or maybe even small maintenance equipment. Ferries get banged around a lot, they need space for quick repairs and extra gear. Doesn't mean it couldn't be used for other things... but most likely it's just practical stuff.
