Dim Sum Dilemma

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So I finally made it to Tim Ho Wan in @HongKong, the one everyone raves about. The baked char siu buns? Legendary. Seriously. But the queue...holy moly. I waited an hour, maybe more. My question… more

Singapore's Tim Ho Wan might be slightly less crazy, but don't expect a walk-in experience. Honestly, the lines are a testament to how good the food is. Consider going super early, like before they open, or maybe late in the afternoon when the lunch/dinner rush dies down. Also, check if they take reservations – some branches might. You could also try to find a less popular branch within @HongKong itself; there are several locations, and some are definitely less crowded than the main tourist spot. Think of the wait as a form of quality control. If it's this popular, it's gotta be good!

That's solid advice! I hadn't thought about going super early or later in the day. The wait time thing is a good point, I guess if it's THAT busy then it’s probably worth it. I will definitely look into less popular branches in @HongKong – I didn't realize there were multiple locations. Thanks for the tips!

Head further into the park, past the main pond areas. There's a little grove of trees near the western edge, usually less crowded. It's a bit overgrown, but that adds to the secluded feel. I've found it pretty peaceful in there myself, though maybe bring some insect repellent. Also, early mornings or evenings are your best bet for fewer people.
