HKShueYanUniFood?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next week for a conference. Heard the campus is gorgeous, but what's the food scene REALLY like around there? I'm not a picky eater, but I'm also not… more

The food near Hong Kong Shue Yan University is pretty decent, actually! Lots of smaller, local places around the campus that aren't crazy expensive. You'll find plenty of cha chaan tengs – those are classic Hong Kong-style cafes – serving up affordable and tasty meals like macaroni soup or curry rice. They're everywhere. Also, check out some of the smaller dai pai dongs if you see them; they're outdoor food stalls, often with great, cheap eats. Just be aware that some might only be open during certain hours. Don't be afraid to wander a bit; you'll stumble upon some gems. Honestly, exploring the neighborhood is half the fun. Enjoy your conference!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
