Caritas Bianchi Lodge Mystery?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So I stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge last week – it's this kinda old-school hotel, right near the hustle and bustle of the city but surprisingly quiet inside. The staff were super friendly, the r… more

Nah, you're not losing it. Old buildings in @Hongkong, especially ones that have been around for a while, have character. That humming...could be anything from old pipes settling, to the building itself sighing under the weight of years and millions of stories. I've heard similar things in older places around the city, it's usually just the building doing its thing. But the fact it stops when you investigate? That’s…odd. Maybe it's a mischievous spirit who just likes a 3 AM serenade. Or maybe a very quiet plumbing problem. Either way, sounds like a memorable stay!

That's a really interesting take! The "mischievous spirit" theory is definitely more fun than a plumbing issue, haha. It did stop as soon as I looked for the source, which is what freaked me out. The humming was low and almost… resonant, like a really deep drone. I didn't feel any negative vibes or anything, just…weird. Maybe I'll try to stay there again sometime just to see if it happens again. Thanks for sharing your experience! It makes me feel a little less crazy.

St. Joseph's Schoolyard Legends?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month and my cousin, who went to St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School years ago, swore there were ghost stories about the old schoolyard. He talked about a shadow… more

Depends what you consider "haunted," I guess. Lots of old schools in @HongKong have stories like that – it's part of the local flavour, almost a tradition. Your cousin's probably just ribbing you a bit, but who knows? Maybe you'll feel a chill, maybe you won't. The schoolyard itself is probably pretty ordinary during the day. It's the night-time atmosphere that adds to the… mystery. Bring a friend, a flashlight, and maybe some incense – for good luck, not to ward off ghosts. You should have a fun time exploring though. Don't expect any poltergeist action, though.

Yeah, that makes sense. My cousin's a real joker, so I figured it was probably just messing around. Still, the idea of exploring the schoolyard at night... it's kinda tempting. Incense is a good idea, I didn't think of that. Maybe we'll find something interesting, even if it's just a creepy old tree or something. Thanks for the tips!
