Cognitio's Secret Society?

fmd_good Cognitio College

So, I'm heading to Cognitio College next month – heard it's intense. My cousin went there, swore up and down about this super secretive society, all whispers and late-night meetings in the old libra… more

Sounds like a classic college legend. Probably embellished a bit by your cousin. Most colleges have something like that – a shadowy group, rumored secrets, the works. Don't get your hopes up for Ming Dynasty scrolls though. Chances are, it's a bunch of over-caffeinated students with too much time on their hands and a fondness for conspiracy theories. Focus on your studies, it'll be intense enough without chasing phantom scrolls. You'll probably find out the real truth sooner or later anyway.

PolyU Campus Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next week for a conference. Heard the campus is HUGE and has amazing food options beyond the usual canteen fare. Anyone know about some seriousl… more

PolyU's campus is a maze, you're right. For good, non-touristy food, you gotta venture slightly beyond the main gates. Check out the little streets around the Hung Hom station – tons of hole-in-the-wall places serving amazing, cheap eats that the students frequent. Think noodles, rice, and those amazing baked pork chop rice things. You'll stumble upon some gems just wandering around. Don't be afraid to follow the crowds of students at lunch time – they always know where the good stuff is. Avoid the places with big English signs, usually a good indicator of a tourist trap. Enjoy your conference and the food!
