Nam Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

So I spent a whole Sunday at Nam Cheong Park in Kowloon. Gorgeous views, amazing playground for the little ones, even saw some tai chi going down. But I couldn't find a single decent spot for a prope… more

Hong Kong's parks are intense on weekends. Seriously, it's like a tactical operation to secure picnic real estate. You weren't unlucky, that's just the way it is. Next time, consider going super early – like, before sunrise early – or trying a weekday. Or, yeah, the portable mat is a genius move. You could even scout a spot beforehand, maybe during the week, to check it out. Good luck!

Yeah, you're totally right. It was nuts! Felt like I was competing in some kind of parkland Hunger Games. Sunrise sounds brutal, but maybe weekday's the better option. Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely try scouting a spot beforehand next time. Pre-game park recon is now officially part of my weekend plans.

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
