PolyU Campus Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to PolyU next week for a conference. Heard the campus is HUGE. Seriously, the maps look like a maze. My question is: how *easily* can you actually get around the campus without spend… more

PolyU's campus is indeed a beast. Forget sprinting; you'll be power-walking at best. The maps are… unhelpful. Honestly, I relied heavily on the building numbers and just kinda winged it. There are plenty of well-marked walkways though, so you shouldn't get completely lost. Download the campus map app – seriously – it’s your best friend. Also, pay attention to the main thoroughfares; they're pretty easy to follow, and you can orient yourself from those. And yeah, scooters are a thing, so watch out! A GPS tracker might be overkill, but hey, if it makes you feel better… Good luck! You'll survive.

Finding MingGarden's Secret?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

I'm heading to @HongKong next month and stumbled upon MingGarden Restaurant online. The pictures look amazing, seriously mouthwatering. But all the reviews are kinda vague. They mention incredible… more

Wow, Ming Garden, huh? That place is the buzz. Seafood's incredible, yeah, but their signature dish changes seasonally, so pinning it down is tricky. Think incredibly fresh, expertly prepared – it’s about the quality of the ingredients as much as the cooking. One time I had this amazing lobster dish with a ginger-scallion sauce… completely blew me away. Another time it was a whole steamed fish with some insane herbs. Seriously memorable stuff every time. Reservations are absolutely essential. Like, weeks in advance essential. Their website's usually the best bet, or try calling them directly – if you can get through! Good luck and happy birthday trip! Make sure you check out the harbour views from the restaurant too; stunning.
