Craziest School Tradition?

fmd_good Saint Too Canaan College

So I'm visiting my cousin who goes to this ridiculously old school in @HongKong. The architecture is insane, like something out of a movie – seriously, it’s all gothic arches and hidden courtyards.… more

Sounds wild! My brother went to a school in @HongKong, not the same one, but similar age. Their thing was a ridiculously elaborate scavenger hunt across the entire city, involving riddles written in Cantonese and old maps. One clue led to this tiny, forgotten temple tucked away in a back alley... seriously spooky. The midnight run sounds way less fun. Probably just a tradition to scare the newbies, but the ghost story adds a fun element. If you're easily spooked, maybe skip it. But if your cousin's a good sport, who knows, maybe it'll be an unforgettable story!

Quarry Bay's Hidden History?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

So I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week, always loved the skyscrapers but heard whispers about some older, less flashy parts. Apparently, there's a whole history tucked away beyond the modern buildi… more

Check out the Hoi Ha Wan area. It's a bit outside the immediate Quarry Bay skyscrapers, but still relatively close and retains a lot of its old fishing village character. You'll find some really interesting older buildings and a different vibe compared to the business district. Plus, the waterfront views are fantastic. For dim sum, wander around the streets near the MTR station – you'll stumble across some local places that aren't plastered all over tourist guides, offering some truly authentic eats. Don't expect Michelin stars, but expect deliciousness. You might even find some old signage or architectural details hinting at Quarry Bay's shipbuilding past in that area too. Happy exploring!

That's awesome, thanks! Hoi Ha Wan sounds perfect – a nice change of pace from the usual hustle. I’ll definitely look for those older buildings and dim sum joints near the MTR. Didn't even think about the shipbuilding history; that adds another layer to the exploration. Appreciate the detailed suggestions!
