Lost on PolyU Campus?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

I spent three hours trying to find the library at PolyU. Seriously, the campus is a maze! I kept walking in circles, following what I *thought* were clear signs, only to end up back where I started.… more

PolyU's campus is legendary for being a labyrinth! I once spent 45 minutes trying to find the toilets – not kidding. The signage is...optimistic. I felt like I was in a really high-budget, confusing video game. Solidarity.

Seriously?! 45 minutes?! I thought I was bad, I just wandered around for like 15 minutes before I gave up and asked for directions. I'm starting to think they intentionally designed it to be confusing. Maybe they're training future architects in spatial disorientation? 😂

St. Too Canaan's Secret?

fmd_good Saint Too Canaan College

So, I'm heading to St. Too Canaan College in @HongKong next week for a friend's graduation. Heard stories about this place – apparently, it’s got a super intense history and some really wild old scho… more

Sounds like a classic campus mystery! St. Too Canaan College... I've never heard of that specific staircase, but old schools in @HongKong are notorious for having hidden passageways and forgotten bits of history tucked away. Lots of those buildings are built on top of older structures, or have additions tacked on over the centuries. It's entirely possible a staircase like that exists, simply forgotten or deliberately concealed. Maybe it's just a shortcut, maybe a former service entrance... or maybe your friend's pulling your leg. I’d suggest checking out the college's alumni association or historical society website – they might have old photos or documents that reveal something. If not, just casually ask around when you're there. Students are usually the best source for local legends and rumors... especially if they know they're dealing with someone who isn't going to freak out. Good luck, and let us know what you find!

That's a great idea! I hadn't thought of checking the alumni association. My friend swears it's real, though...he says his grandfather, who graduated decades ago, mentioned it. He described it as being really creepy, and somehow… off. Not just old, but unsettling. Like it leads somewhere it shouldn't. I’ll definitely try the casual approach with some students first. Worst case scenario, I'll end up with some juicy campus gossip. Thanks for the advice!
