Best International School in Berlin?

preferrebly offering British education preferrebly offering British education

If you're looking for British education in Berlin, the British International School in Kladow is the obvious choice. It follows the English National Curriculum all the way through to A-Levels, and the campus is quite large with good facilities, but it's pretty far out. You'll need to factor in the commute from central Berlin, which can be over an hour each way.

you might want to check out the jfk school in zehlendorf too, it's american curriculum not british but i mention it because a lot of british families end up there anyway since it's more central than kladow and the IB is basically the same as A-levels for uni applications. the school itself is huge with a proper campus and they have a strong music and sports program which some of the others lack. plus zehlendorf is a nice area with actual green space, not like living in the middle of nowhere in kladow

For British curriculum specifically, the Kladow school is really your only full option for A-Levels in Berlin. But don't sleep on the Berlin British School in Schmargendorf, it's smaller and does IGCSEs but stops at Year 11, so you'd need to transition somewhere else for sixth form. A lot of expat families I know do a mix, they start at one of the bilingual Grundschulen like the Jules Verne Campus in Prenzlauer Berg and switch to Kladow later when the A-Levels actually matter. Saves you that awful commute in the early years when distance is less of a concern.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
