Know any farm to table projects in Berlin?

Have you heard of any farm to table projects in the city? Or social food projects? Have you heard of any farm to table projects in the city? Or social food projects?

Freiland in Friedrichshain runs a pretty direct farm to table setup, they grow vegetables on a rooftop and have a small shop and cafe. The produce is seasonal and they're transparent about where everything comes from, you can see the greenhouse right above the dining area. They also host workshops on fermentation and preserving if you want to get hands on with the food system side of things.

Marktschwaermer is worth checking out if you want to skip the middleman entirely. It's a platform where you order directly from nearby farms and pick up your box at a local distribution point, like a cafe or a community center. There are pickup spots all over the city, including one at the Markthalle Neun in Kreuzberg on Thursday evenings. For a more hands-on social project, Speisegut in Neukolln runs cooking workshops with rescued ingredients and charges on a pay-what-you-can basis.

Prinzessinnengarten in Kreuzberg is probably the best-known urban farming project here. They grow vegetables right on Moritzplatz and run a little cafe where you can eat what they harvest. There's also Himmelbeet in Wedding, which has a similar setup with community beds and a small restaurant, though the food is more seasonal than a full menu. Both are worth a visit if you want to see food grown and served within a few hundred meters.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
