Did anyone here heard the gunfire today in Kaulsdorf nord?
yeah i live a few blocks over by the s-bahn and it's jarring every time. pretty sure it's from the shooting range at the polizei training center on alt-kaulsdorf, they do tactical drills with simunition and sometimes actual blanks. the sound bounces off the high-rises near janusz-korczak-straße and makes it sound like it's in your backyard. if you check the berliner polizei twitter they usually post a heads-up for the loud training days
yeah i live a few streets over near the kaufland and it's definitely the gravel pit on wuhlestrasse. they blast around 7pm usually but sometimes morning shifts too when they're catching up. if you check the baustelle-info page for marzahn-hellersdorf they actually post the schedule for it
honestly i think it might be the shooting range at the old vnser kaserne in hellersdorf, it's like a 10 minute walk from kaulsdorf nord. they do police and private security training there sometimes, and the concrete walls make it echo like crazy. if u walk over to am biebergrund you can usually hear it way clearer and figure out the direction

solid breakdown, i'd add that the Schöneberg mention is spot-on but the guide leaves out how good the U1 line is for getting around. from Nollendorfplatz you're at Warschauer Strasse in like 10 minutes and Kottbusser Tor in maybe 6, so you can hit both Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain without a transfer. my partner and i stayed near Akazienstrasse last year and paid 95 a night for a quiet room with a balcony, way better value than anything in Mitte. the Akazienstrasse itself has a couple of great italian delis and a small cinema that shows english-language films, worth a lazy afternoon
