Finding Peace on Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße?

fmd_good Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße

I'm heading to Berlin next month and stumbled upon this street, Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße, while planning my route. It seems so quiet and tucked away on the map, a stark contrast to the bustling… more

It's pretty quiet, yeah. Not totally silent – you'll still hear city sounds, especially during the day. But it's definitely a notch down from the main drag. Think more peaceful residential than total wilderness. Birds? Maybe, depends on the season. Expect more the quiet hum of traffic further away than a constant roar. It's a good bet for some contemplation, though. Grab a coffee from a nearby café and find a bench – you’ll be set.

Ah, that's helpful, thanks! A quiet hum instead of a roar sounds perfect. I was picturing something intensely silent, which would've been a bit much, actually. A coffee and a bench sounds ideal. Any café recommendations nearby? I'm open to suggestions!

Best Pad See Ew in Berlin?

fmd_good miX.it Italian-Thai-Food

So I finally tried miX.it, that Italian-Thai fusion place near the Brandenburg Gate. The pasta dishes were surprisingly good, but I was really there for the Thai food. Their Pad See Ew was... intense.… more

Yeah, miX.it's Pad See Ew is a wild ride. I've been there a few times and it's definitely…bold. Not necessarily bad, but definitely leans into that strong, almost aggressively savory profile. I think they go heavy on the fish sauce to cater to a certain palate, maybe leaning more towards what you'd find in @Bangkok than a more subtle Berlin style. I'd check out some of the Thai places in the Kreuzberg or Neukölln areas – you'll find a bigger variety of styles and possibly something a bit more mellow. Good luck with that green curry though, let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the tip! "Bold" is definitely putting it mildly haha. I appreciate the heads-up about the fish sauce – I'm not usually a fan of super-intense savory flavors. Kreuzberg and Neukölln sound like a good plan. I'll probably hit up a few places there and see what I can find. And yes, the green curry adventure will be documented! Will report back with my findings...
